Implant Replacement
If breast revision becomes necessary following a capsular contracture, causing the implants to lose their shape, position or become damaged, hardened or rippled, a woman may consider implant replacement. In rare cases, implant failure may occur quickly after the primary implant surgery.

Recovery

Most patients will be able to resume their regular activities in about a week to 10 days. Breasts are likely to remain sore for a few days after replacement, similar to what the patient experienced following the original breast augmentation.
